Keep Screen Awake Option

The Keep Screen Awake option prevents your phone from dimming or locking while you’re running a session. This helps maintain a stable Bluetooth connection on some devices and makes it easier to make quick adjustments during use.

Steps

  1. Open the Dharma Dr app
Ensure your Tabs are powered on and connected via Bluetooth.
  2. Open Advanced Settings
Tap the menu icon with 3 dots in upper right
  3. Enable Keep Screen Awake
Toggle Keep Screen Awake on. Your display will remain on while a session is active.
  4. Start your session
Begin your session as normal. You can turn this setting off anytime after your session ends.

Why Use This

  • Prevents drops — Some phones aggressively save power when the screen locks, which can interrupt Bluetooth.
  • Quick adjustments — Keeps the UI visible for changing speed, intensity, or mode on the fly.
  • Therapist-led sessions — Keeps controls visible during guided work.

Troubleshooting

  • Screen still turns off— Disable battery optimizations for the Dharma Dr app.
    • Android: Settings > Apps > Dharma Dr > Battery > Unrestricted (or “Don’t optimize”).
    • iOS: Turn off Low Power Mode during sessions (Settings > Battery).
  • Phone gets warm — Lower screen brightness or turn off Keep Screen Awake between sets.
  • Battery drains quickly — Plug into power for long sessions, or disable the option when not needed.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Use a moderate screen brightness to balance visibility and battery life.
  • Combine with Do Not Disturb to avoid interruptions during a session.
  • Turn off the toggle after your session to conserve battery.
